RESOURCES FOR BUSINESSES
Federal law requires that every employer who recruits, refers for a fee, or hires an individual for employment in the U.S. must complete Form I-9, Employment Eligibility Verification. Form I-9 will help you verify your employee's identity and employment authorization. When the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) conducts an I-9 audit of your business, it is important to fully understand and comply with their Notice of Inspection (NOI). Below are some helpful resources to increase your understanding of the I-9 audit process. Businesses large and small should work proactively to ensure their I-9 documents are properly filled out, verified and readily available. The information provided on these pages is not legal advice - all business owners should contact an attorney to ensure compliance with federal laws.
