Tours and Tickets
Government Shutdown Notice:
In the event of a government shutdown, tours at most federal buildings, including the Capitol, will be unavailable. If you have a Capitol tour scheduled while the government is closed, it will unfortunately be canceled. If you wish to reschedule tours, please contact our Washington DC office at (202) 225-5401 or email Michelle.Gunn@mail.house.gov. For new tour requests taking place at a future time, please continue to use the form below.
Open-air monuments in the National Mall will remain open to visitors. Other popular destinations in Washington may be open. We encourage you to check with other locations ahead of your visit.
General Tour and Ticket Requests
All tickets are provided to constituents on a first-come, first-served basis. Due to the large number of visitors, please request them as early as possible in order to maximize your chances.
Obtaining a White House tour can be very difficult. It is very important to follow the below guidelines for your application to be considered.
The following are policies determined by the White House for those requesting tours through Congressional Offices:
- Tours must be requested at least three weeks in advance.
- Tours are only available Tuesday through Thursday 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and Fridays and Saturdays 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
PLEASE NOTE: Due to planned renovations of the East Wing, which makes up most of the White House tour route, and the addition of a ballroom, the White House Visitor Center will not offer tours for the month of October. For White House tour requests past October 31, please continue to mark your interest in our form below. Our office will update you about tour availability as soon as we get more information.
