Two McGarvey Small Business Bills Unanimously Pass U.S. House of Representatives

WASHINGTON, D.C. (April 29, 2024) – Tonight, Congressman Morgan McGarvey (KY-03) kicked off National Small Business Week as two of his bills unanimously passed the U.S. House of Representatives. H.R. 7985, the Entrepreneurs with Disabilities Reporting Act, would require the Small Business Administration (SBA) to submit a report to Congress on challenges faced by entrepreneurs with disabilities. And H.R. 7103, the Agency Accountability Act, would hold federal agencies that fail to meet their small business contracting quotas accountable.

“I’m so pleased to see two of my Small Business Committees bills pass the House this evening,” said Rep. McGarvey. “From providing more support to entrepreneurs with disabilities to making sure we’re holding federal agencies accountable and everything in between, it’s important that we do everything we can to uplift our small business community. I’m proud to have worked with Ranking Member Velazquez, Subcommittee Chairman Molinaro, and Rep. Stauber on these bipartisan bills to ensure Congress is doing its best to support entrepreneurs from all walks of life. This is a great way to start National Small Business Week, and I’m excited to continue working to make sure our small businesses get the support and resources they need.”

Congressman McGarvey has now passed two bills as the primary sponsor out of the U.S. House of Representatives and is the first freshman Democrat to pass a bill in September 2023.

The Entrepreneurs with Disabilities Reporting Act is endorsed by CCD Center for Law and Social Policy (CLASP), Council of State Administrators of Vocational Rehabilitation (CSAVR) and the National Association of Councils on Developmental Disabilities (NACDD).
