Congressman Morgan McGarvey Votes Against Partisan Funding Bill
Today, Congressman Morgan McGarvey released the following statement after voting against the partisan Republican funding bill:
"Over 40,000 veterans call Louisville home. Instead of supporting their heroism, Republicans just jeopardized their health care, including for veterans exposed to toxic chemicals like Agent Orange.
“As if that wasn't enough, this Republican bill also shortchanges FEMA's Disaster Relief Fund just as Kentucky is recovering from devastating flooding, cuts programs that help feed and house low-income seniors, and does nothing to rein in the Trump administration's hollowing out of the Social Security Administration, which so far includes laying off 7,000 employees and closing entire offices, including in Kentucky.
“Seniors, veterans, and every American deserve better — I voted no."
