Congressman Morgan McGarvey Statement on Temporary Pause to Trump’s Tariffs

LOUISVILLE, KY (February 3, 2025) – Today, Congressman Morgan McGarvey (KY-03), Co-Chair of the Congressional Bourbon Caucus, released the following statement following a temporary pause to Trump’s tariffs on Canada and Mexico:

“Let’s be clear: this fight is far from over.

“There are over 20,000 Kentuckians working in the bourbon industry who will go to bed tonight worrying about their job security if the Trump tariffs go into effect next month. These hardworking men and women's livelihoods should never be used as bargaining chips — not now, not ever."
