Congressman Morgan McGarvey Announces Congresswoman Erin Houchin as Ohio River Basin Caucus Co-Chair
WASHINGTON, D.C. (May 16, 2024) – Today, Congressman Morgan McGarvey (D- KY-03) announced that Congresswoman Erin Houchin (R-IN-09) has joined the Ohio River Basin Caucus as Republican co-chair.
“Congresswoman Houchin is going to be an incredible advocate and partner as co-chair of the Ohio River caucus. The Ohio is the largest body of water in the entire country that receives zero dollars in federal funding — and that needs to change. The Ohio River literally unites our two districts, and together we will advocate for federal funding so we can restore, revitalize, and protect it for generations to come,” said Rep. McGarvey.
“I am honored to serve as co-chair of the Ohio River Caucus, representing the vital interests of Southern Indiana. The Ohio River is not only a lifeline for commerce and industry but a symbol of our region's rich history and potential for growth. As co-chair, I am committed to advocating for policies that promote economic prosperity and conservation along the Ohio River and beyond,” said Rep. Houchin.
The Ohio River Basin Caucus is made up of a bipartisan group of members of Congress including Larry Bucshon (IN-08), Thomas Massie (KY-04), Brett Guthrie (KY-02), Hal Rogers (KY-05), Max Miller (OH-07), Bob Latta (OH-05), Greg Landsman (OH-01), Emilia Sykes (OH-13), Brad Wenstrup (OH-02), Nikki Budzinski (IL-13), Chris Deluzio (PA-17), Mike Carey (OH-15), and David Trone (MD-06).
