University of Louisville, Kosair for Kids unveil new pediatric neurorecovery center

The University of Louisville and Kosair for Kids announced an expansion on April 21 that’ll help children recovering from spinal cord injuries.

They are building a new, dedicated home for the Kosair for Kids Center for Pediatric NeuroRecovery.

UofL says the new facility will provide cutting-edge therapy to nearly two dozen kids and teens with spinal cord injuries each day.

Congressman Morgan McGarvey was at Frazier Rehab Monday morning as the announcement was made. He says this new facility will help families for decades and centuries.

“This is what we need here in Louisville, not just for our most precious resource, which is our kids, but to keep moving forward as a community to provide care for everybody and to make sure that care’s not just here now, it’s here for decades and centuries to come,” McGarvey said.

The facility will be designed to accelerate research and translate discoveries into clinical therapies, improving recovery, health and quality of life.
