Congressman Morgan McGarvey visits Feed Louisville

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Kentucky Congressman Morgan McGarvey is applauding the efforts of a Louisville nonprofit feeding the homeless.

McGarvey toured Feed Louisville's new Butchertown headquarters on Wednesday.

He volunteered with the organization when it operated out of a Highlands church.

He said he was thrilled to see the nonprofit's progress moving into the larger space.

"Now they have this amazing kitchen, it's five times bigger than what they had. They are giving out 800 meals per day right now and they have the capacity to scale up. We are so lucky to have this program in Louisville and it's not only scalable, it's replicable," McGarvey said.

The meals prepared by Feed Louisville are distributed to the homeless by a series of community partners.
