Congressman Morgan McGarvey Launches Youth Advisory Council
LOUISVILLE, KY (April 01, 2024) – Today, Congressman Morgan McGarvey (KY-03) announced the launch of his Youth Advisory Council, a nonpartisan initiative that will provide students with the opportunity to advise Congressman McGarvey on the policy issues that matter most to them and have their voices better represented in Washington, D.C.
“One of the things I love doing as a member of Congress is meeting with students. Some of the best questions and best ideas come from speaking with young adults,” said Rep. McGarvey. “The Youth Advisory Council will give rising high school seniors living in Louisville the opportunity to advise me on policy, debate ideas, and collaborate on solutions that will make our community and our country stronger.”
The Youth Advisory Council will meet privately with Congressman McGarvey several times during the school year. Participation in the council will foster active civic engagement among students by teaching the importance of public service, creating a better understanding of the legislative process, and empowering the next generation of leaders with advocacy skills.
Applications for the Youth Advisory Council Class of 2025 will be accepted from April 1st through May 24th. Acceptance letters will be sent in June. To access the complete application, requirements, and important deadlines, visit Congressman McGarvey’s website.
